Breitling Chronomat Evolution
The life of the Breitling began in 1940 with the application for a Swiss government patent for an innovative circular slide rule to be used in conjunction with a wrist chronograph.
The first Breitling were then manufactured and sold in 1941/42.
Later, in 1950, the outstanding success of the Chronomat inspired the birth of the Navitimer, a chronograph with its slide rule modelled after the E6B circular slide rule used by pilots.
The Chronomat has remained one of Breitling most successful watches for over sixty years and has in recent years proved to be Breitlings biggest seller. It has an impressive 42.5mm stainless steel case with high quality rose gold plated.
Its steel Deployment Buckle has the same finish and bears the breitlling logo and strong engravings. The chronograph function is clearly displayed by three golden sub-dials with black numerals on the dial.
The chronograph pushers have to be unlock it before using. The Breitling watch I eventually settled on was the Chronomat Evolution, which is Breitlings best selling watch, and its not hard to see why.
This stunning timepiece was originally created to for the world famous Frecce Tricolori, the Italian air force display team. Over the years Breitling Chronomat Evolution have tweaked its design and it is now considered by many people, myself included, to be the most technically accomplished watch in their extensive range.
It shares design features with any other Breitling Chronomat Evolution watches, things like the classic 3 sub-dials, one for recording seconds, one for 10 minute intervals and a 3 hour interval sub-dial. For the technically minded, the movement is an ETA Valjoux 7750 and the casing diameter is 43.7mm and is 17.1mm thick.
Breitling Chronomat Evolution watch has a black face with white dials, but there are several other variations to this design available. Breitling watches come in wonderful designs. Each watch is subjected to very close scrutiny during the manufacturing process. A thorough inspection is also carried out as the watch is being taken out of the warehouse.
Many celebrities have openly endorsed them, with starts like Usher and David Beckham recently buying into the brand, so their profile has never been higher.
